I picked this picture because in chapther three Gatsby is manly throwing a party through out the whole thing. This picture represents what goes on at a party and what people do. In the Great Gatsby the people that where at Gatsby's party invited them selves. At the party the guest were running wild. They would go run off with other people. Instead of the people that they came with. They would have affairs and run amuck. As you can see in the picture everyone is having a good time. Another thing that is going on in the picture is that everyone is trying to meet(hook up) with someone else. Hence what happens at Gatsby's parties.

One of the many important settings in The Great Gatsgy is Gatsby's parties. At Gatsby's mansion he loves to throw lavish parties. The people at the party usually invite themselves. Gatsby hardly ever knows them. Gatsby will have his servents display food and decorations throughout his property. He also has an orcatstra and chorus comr to entertain his guest. Nick was one of very few that Gatsby hiomself invited. Every one there knew nothing about him. They all just make up stories and spread them like gossip. For example that Gatsby killed a man and the college he went to. At the party itself the guest would mingle with themselves. None of them really knew what Gatsby looked like or what he was like, not even Nick. This illustrates how people are fake and do not care about others.Another way Gatsby's guest are rude and innconsiterate is this. At one party most of the guest got very drunk. Once they got drunk the truth about their lives started to come out. Many of the couples their got in to fights. They got in to fights mainly over the fact that they were liying and cheating on their other partner. The couples liying and cheating forshadows how Tom and Daisy's relationship goes. Also at the party(while looking for Gatsby) Jordan and Nick go to the library where they meet "Owl Eyes". He is stunned at the fact that the books in the library are real. Owl eyes thinks that they are made out of cardboard. Then at the end of the party owl eyes and others get into a car accident. They total the car and insist on driving . These are some of the main things that can happen with Gatsby's guest at his parties.
